Younger athletes (9-11 years)
Athletes between the ages of 9 and 11 train in our early Monday evening session at the Colchester Garrison Track between 6:30 - 7:30pm with qualified coaches or assistant coaches. Sessions are based on the England Athletics FUNdamentals programme, which involves jumping and throwing as well as running. All young athletes are expected to learn all three disciplines as part of our rotation system.
The waiting list for our FUNdamentals sessions for younger athletes is available through the link below. However, the form will stop accepting responses when our list is at capacity. Out of fairness to others, we are unable to accept enquiries via email to be added to the waiting list.
Older athletes (12+ years / adult)
We run sessions on Monday and Wednesday evenings for athletes aged 12 and above (both junior and senior sessions). If you are an older athlete (12+) wishing to join the club, please contact the Club Membership Secretary via the link below before coming down to the track. Please let us know the athletics discipline(s) you are interested in (e.g. sprints, middle distance, jumps, throws), and we shall endeavour to secure a place for you amongst our training groups. You will get three taster sessions to give you time to decide whether you like the club and wish to join.
Please note that due to high demand, some disciplines are currently full and operating waiting lists.
Please be aware that if you join the club, you will be expected to show commitment, not just to training, but also to competition. All our coaches, committee members and league managers are volunteers and give up their time freely. We also expect some commitment from parents to help where possible.
